Arsenal line up move for 22-year-old Germany star as replacement for Ozil – Liverpool & Man City also interested
Arsenal are preparing for life without their star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the north London-based club. Ozil has under seven months remaining on his contract with Arsenal.
The Germany international could end up leaving the club for free unless he strikes a new deal with Arsenal. Alternatively, the Gunners could cash in early and sell Ozil in January.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal have set their sights on Leon Goretzka as a replacement for Ozil. Per the source, the Germany international is currently Arsene Wenger’s No1 midfield target for next summer.
Arsenal will be able to pick the 22-year-old up for free next summer when his contract with Schalke expires.
However, the report states that Premier League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are also interested in Goretzka.
