Arsenal Make Offer For Former Youth Player Who Has Gone On To Win Back To Back Super Lig Titles

Arsenal have made an offer for Besiktas star Oguzhan Ozyakup according to the Milliyet newspaper.

Per the source, the Ozyakup is seriously considering returning to the North London based outfit.

The Gunners are able to sign their former midfielder on a free transfer as he will be out of contract at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has yet to reveal what his plans are beyond the end of the season but has never denied wanting to play for a Premier League side again.

Arsenal have been keeping close tabs on Ozyakup.

Gunners scout Jurgen Kost was quoted last season by Turkish-Football as saying: “Ozyakup is a player of the highest standard, we have been closely tracking his progress and when we do our next search for players in his position he could return to Arsenal.”

The former Gunners academy player won the 2008 Youth FA Cup with the North London based outfit.

Ozyakup left Arsenal for Besiktas on a €500,000 move five-year ago and has gone onto win two league titles over the past two seasons.

The Turkey international is also set to star in the Black Eagles Champions League Last 16 clash against Bayern Munich on 20 February.

Besiktas cruised past the group stage as undefeated leaders beating Porto, Red Bull Leipzig and Monaco along the way.

Ozyakup has 27 goals and 48 assists for the Black Eagles in 208 appearances since joining the club.
