Arsenal may be forced to sell Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, says Ray Parlour
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has stated that the Gunners may have to sell Aleixs Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.
The former England international has said the north London based club cannot risk holding onto players who have under a year remaining on their contracts.
Parlour stated that Arsenal will have to cash in on their star names, like they did with the sale of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.
“There will be clubs queueing up for Sanchez,” Ray Parlour told Talksport.
“If he doesn’t sign a contract, they have to sell him. They can’t keep him and let him see out his contract.
“They have to cash in, like they did with Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri.
“They [Arsenal] have to make a decision with the manager – he has to decide what he wants to do – and Ozil and Sanchez.
“Then you have got Jack Wilshere, who is going to come back into the ranks and has a year left on his contract. And Oxlade-Chamberlain is down to one year on his contract.
“It is such a shame because he has been a brilliant player for Arsenal.”
According to the Telegraph, Ozil has been offered a new deal by Arsenal but has stalled on negotiations and is willing to leave the club this summer.
Arsenal were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich on Tuesday. The Gunners have been knocked-out in the round of 16 for the past seven consecutive seasons.
Arsene Wenger’s side take on Lincoln this weekend in the FA Cup. Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League.
