Arsenal News: Altinordu Stand To Make £8.8m From Bundesliga Defender Deal If Gunners Pay £35m

Caglar Soyuncu

Arsenal have been closely linked with a move for Freiburg center-back Caglar Soyuncu.

The Bundesliga outfit want in the region of £35 million for the Turkey international.

The fee may seem excessive for a 21-year-old but the valuation reflects the fact the Freiburg would pay 25 percent of the fee to his former club Altinordu.

The Turkish second-tier side developed Soyuncu from youth level at their highly acclaimed academy before his £2 million transfer to the German outfit.

Freiburg snapped Soyuncu up for a bargain fee but Altinordu stand to make more than they sold him if he does leave the Bundesliga.

The Izmir based side would make £8.8 million if Soyuncu goes to Arsenal for the fee being quoted.

It is little wonder Altinordu have been so vocal in pushing Soyuncu to the Premier League.

The fee would leave them in a comfortable financial position for the next two to three seasons.

Turkish-Football recently reported Ozkan as saying: “Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal.”

“Of course we would make a cut from the transfer if he joins Arsenal.

“Arsenal asked us for data on his time at the club, we have put something together for them which will be handed over.

“Bayern Munich also wanted him but he’s on the way to the Premier League.”

The defender went from playing in the Turkish second tier to establishing himself as a highly rated first-team player in the Bundesliga.

Soyuncu rose through the Altinordu youth ranks alongside Roma star Cengiz Under.

The Izmir based club have invested heavily in their academy and aim to field a completely homegrown side by 2020.
