Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has revealed his contract demands according to reports from Germany.
The 29-year-old has been linked with an Arsenal exit after failing to put pen-to-paper on a new deal. Ozil could even end up leaving the club for free in the summer unless a new contract is agreed.
Arsenal recently lost Alexis Sanchez to rivals Manchester United over the January transfer window and will be desperate not to lose Ozil in the same way.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Ozil in recent weeks.
According to the German outlet Bild, Ozil wants a 30 percent wage increase and the number 10 shirt if he is to sign a new Arsenal contract.
However, England international Jack Wilshere currently wears the number ten jersey at the north London based club. If Arsenal do cave into Ozil’s demands, it could lead to frictions with Wilshere, who also has under five months left on his contract.
Ozil provided the assist for Arsenal’s only goal against Swansea City last night. However, the Gunners went on to suffer a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Swans.
