Arsenal news: Wenger reveals latest on Mesut Ozil & Alexis Sanchez contract talks

Arsenal face to prospect of losing two of their star players next summer for free.

Both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have entered the final six months of their contracts. The duo will be free to hold talks and sign pre-contract agreements with European clubs from January 1 onwards.

Arsenal could also consider selling off their star duo for a cut-price in January to avoid losing them on a free.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has refuted recent reports that Mesut Ozil has been offered a ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ contract offer.

The French tactician has however insisted that negotiations remain ongoing with the duo. Wenger also reiterated his desire to retain both Ozil and Sanchez.

“No. Negotiations are always going on with everybody,” Wenger stated when asked if negotiations were at a ‘take it or leave it’ stage, according to SkySports.

“I said that many times [that I want Sanchez and Ozil to stay] and that’s all we can say.

“Is it two years to go? One year to go? Three months to go? The door is always open and for the rest I cannot tell you much more.”

Ozil is expected to feature tonight when Arsenal take on their London rivals West Ham United at the London stadium. The Gunners could move up into the top four with a win tonight.
