Arsenal have transfer listed Shkodran Mustafi and are prepared to sell him for £22.3m [€25m] according to Fanatik.
The latest development follows a report the Turkish sports newspaper published yesterday claiming the Gunners snubbed a loan offer from Galatasaray.
The Gunners reportedly informed the Lions they plan to sell Mustafi on a permanent deal and that head coach Unai Emery is not keen on the 26-year-old.
After having their loan move rejected, the Lions are now prepared to wait until late into the transfer window and launch a fresh loan bid.
The Istanbul giants plan does of course rest on the assumption that Arsenal will not find a buyer for the Germany international by then.
Galatasaray would not be able to match the Gunners valuation due to pressure from Financial Fair Play to curb spending.
Additionally, another problem is that the Premier League transfer window shuts next Thursday.
Should Arsenal sell Mustafi they would have to find a replacement by Thursday 9 August.
Galatasaray meanwhile, have until the end of the month to conclude their transfer activity.
Mustafi does remain one of the most experienced members of the Arsenal defence. The North London outfit do have 20-year-old Konstantinos Mavropanos and fellow Greek international Sokratis Papastathopoulos but do not exactly have a lot of depth at the back.
Laurent Koscielny is out injured until next year and Per Mertesacker has retired.
Calum Chambers did sign a new deal and Emery did make it clear he has plans for the young defender.
“I’m delighted Calum has extended his stay with us. He played an important role last season and will be part of my plans this season,” he said.
Rob Holding is also an option available in case Mustafi were to leave.
