Arsenal have set their sights on signing Germany international midfielder Kerem Demirbay this summer.

The Hoffenheim star is well-known to Arsenal’s new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who moved to the north London based club from Borussia Dortmund last year.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are looking to strengthen in midfield and have added Demirbay to their summer shopping list.

Per the source, the 24-year-old playmaker could be available for £20million at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s rivals Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Demirbay in recent months. The midfielder is well known to Reds fans following two impressive performances against Liverpool at the beginning of the season.

Demirbay has registered one assist and scored two goals in 15 appearances in an injury-hampered season for Hoffenheim. The in-demand midfielder is currently recovering from an ankle ligament injury and isn’t expected to return until April.
