Galatasaray received a transfer boost today after The Sun reported that Arsenal are prepared to sell Shkodran Mustafi.
The Lions have been closely linked with a move for the Germany international in the Turkish media.
The Sun report does however, highlight the same argument the Turkish papers have been making, that Arsenal want to sell.
Per the source, head coach Unai Emery has reportedly been left unimpressed by the state of his defence.
The squad already have six central defenders on their books but Emery he is not convinced by Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Rob Holding and does not believe youngster Konstantinos Mavropanos is ready for regular Premier League action.
The Gunners want to sell Mustafi and Danny Welbeck so that they can launch a £25m move for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.
Arsenal and Galatasaray are facing the same problem, they both have to sell players in order to sign their intended targets.
The North London based outfit are prepared to sell Mustafi for £20m but Galatasaray want a loan deal.
The Lions simply would not be able to afford the fee being quoted for the Arsenal defender.
Galatasaray have already received fines and are on a last warning to curb spending after coming under pressure from Financial Fair Play (FFP).
The only way the Super Lig champions could fund a move for Mustafi is if they sell a player for the same or a higher fee.
