Arsenal have placed their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s star midfielder Marco Reus on hold due to the uncertainty regarding Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s contracts, according to the Mirror.
The report states that transfer plans are on hold at the Emirates until Sanchez and Ozil’s contracts are resolved.
Per-the-source, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident that Ozil will sign a new deal but has concerns regarding Sanchez, who wants assurances that the club will challenge for major titles.
The Mirror goes onto say that the duo want pay-rises to more than £200,000 a week, which exceeds the Gunners strict wage policy.
Ozil has been in exceptional form this season with seven assists and nine goals in 23 apperances for the Gunners this term. However, the 28-year-old missed the Gunners 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace and was also sidelined during Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.
Arsenal take on Preston this weekend in the FA Cup and face Swansea on the Premier League next weekend.
