Arsenal reveals injury update regarding Mesut Ozil ahead of Man City cup final clash

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has provided an update on Mesut Ozil fitness ahead of the Gunners Carabao Cup final clash.

The north London based club take on Premier League leaders Man City in the League Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Ozil missed Thursday evening’s Europa League encounter with Ostersunds due to an illness. The 29-year-old was also absent from training on both Monday and Tuesday.

The Germany international did, however, return to training on Thursday evening and Wenger believes he will be available for the Man City clash.

“I see him this morning, he had a good session yesterday and we have to see how he responds to it but I think he will be alright,” Wenger told reporters at the pre-game press conference.

“You want all your best players available and of course he is an important player for us.”

In more positive news, John Cross from the Mirror has revealed that Aaron Ramsey is also likely to feature this weekend.
