Arsenal have been closely linked with former youth academy player Oguzhan Ozyakup recently.
A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that the Gunners have been keeping close tabs on Ozyakup for over a season.
The North London based outfit have found support for targetting Ozyakup from the most unlikely of places.
Chelsea coach Eddie Newton has come out and revealed that he thinks the Gunners would be wise to try and bring back their former player.
Speaking to DHA Newton said: “Arsenal’s system is ideal for Oguzhan.
“He has great technical ability and I see no reason why he would not be a success there.”

Ozyakup left Arsenal five years ago and has gone onto become a star player for Besiktas.
The Turkey international played a key role in the Black Eagles side that has won the league title for the past two seasons.
The 24-year-old is almost certain to start for the Istanbul giants on Tuesday in the Champions League Last 16 first-leg clash against Bayern Munich.
Ozyakup has 27 goals and 48 assists in 209 appearances for Besiktas since joining but he could end up leaving the club for free.
The Eagles have yet to strike a deal over a contract extension, the midfielder will be a free agent this summer unless an agreement is reached.
