Arsenal’s young star Alex Iwobi has admitted that he prefers playing in the number ten position for the Gunners, according to SkySports.
Per-the-source, Iwobi said that he feels comfortable in a central role despite predominantly being played out on the wing by manager Arsene Wenger.
Iwobi started in place of Ozil during the Gunners victory over Palace and the young midfielder is once again expected to be included in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up tonight against Bournemouth.
“It is where I have grown up playing, and where I enjoy playing the most. But wherever I am put on the pitch, I will do my best,” Iwobi said.
“It’s more intense, more thinking to it but it’s always hard to play in any position. There are a lot of players who can play No.10; a lot of ball-players in the team.
“Every day in training I am always learning and trying to add it to my game. This time last year I was just playing in the cup games and happy to be there. To be starting almost every week is just amazing progress for me.”
The 20-year-old has three assists and three goals in 23 apperances for Arsenal so far this season.
Arsenal can move up into third place in the league if they record a win over Bournemouth tonight. The Gunners are currently nine points behind leaders Chelsea.
Meanwhile in other Arsenal news, star playmaker Mesut Ozil has been ruled out for the Gunners clash with Bournemouth in the Premier League tonight according to the Mirror.
