Arsenal Player Urged To Consider Emirates Exit Amid Reports That Talks Are Underway In London With Super Lig Club Officials

Arsenal keeper David Ospina has been closely linked with an Emirates exit this summer.

Turkish-Football reported yesterday that Fenerbahce president Ali Koc and several club officials were spotted in the Dorchester Hotel, London.

Ospina was among the players they will be holdings talks over for the next few days.

Negotiations are set to be held with the North London outfit over a summer move for the keeper.

Colombia and Galatasaray goalkeeping legend Faryd Mondragon has urged Ospina to consider leaving Arsenal for a side where he will be first-choice.

Mondragon told Goal at World Cup 2018: “Players need game time to get used to the pace of competition.

“It would be better for him to have more continuity and I am sure he is contemplating that option because he could play for any club in the world.”

Ospina was not at his best in the World Cup game against Japan, making a meal out of a delivery that led to Colombia’s opposition recording a surprise win in their opening Group H clash.

Mondragon did however, underlined the importance of Ospina to the Colombia national team.

Mondragon added: “Ospina is very important for Colombia.

“He made only one mistake against Paraguay in the qualifiers.

“In Lima, after that game, I went to the locker room to talk to him. He saw me and tears came out because he was under a lot of stress.

“I told him that I was happy that he made a mistake because that is a good way to prove that you are human. I told him he had been playing without mistakes for five years.”
