Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to state that he is looking forward to taking on France in the semi finals of Euro 2016.
The 27-year-old scored Germany’s only goal against Italy in regulation time but when it was his turn to score in the penalty shoot out he missed. The Germany international has now missed both his penalty efforts at Euro 2016 and four of his last five penalties for club and country.
Ozil uploaded a video to Instagram along with the following caption, “Quarter final! Now looking forward to our next challenge: France!”
Ozil racked up 19 assists during Arsenal’s Premier League season and was just one assist off equalling the record set by Thierry Henry.
Germany take on the hosts France in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 next week and will face either Wales or Portugal if they make it thought to the final.
