Arsenal Star Holds Talks With Turkish Giants During World Cup After He Green Lights Emirates Exit

David Ospina

Fenerbahce have held talks with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina during the 2018 World Cup in Russia according to reports in Turkey.

The Fanatik sports newspaper claim that Fenerbahce representatives have reached out directly to the Colombian keeper.

Per the source, Ospina has given the Yellow Canaries the green light to push ahead with a move.

The 29-year-old has fallen further down the pecking order following the transfer of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen.

Petr Cech has already made it clear he will be staying at Arsenal meaning Ospina would be third-choice keeper should he stay at the Emirates.

Fenerbahce did try to sign the Colombia international last summer but former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger blocked the move.

The Super Lig outfit have made signing a keeper a priority over the transfer window.

Ospina was promised first-team cup football but will be unlikely to receive the same assurances for next season with Cech staying on.

The keeper started all three Colombia games in the World Cup group stage and is likely to get the nod against England in the Last 16 clash tonight.

Ospina has just 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to be offered a new deal.
