Arsenal Star Banned From Social Media For World Cup, Germany Boss Also Enforces ‘Sex Ban’

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is pretty prolific when it comes to social media.

The playmaker of Turkish origin is one of the most followed players in the Premier League across the major social media platforms.

He probably won’t be too pleased to find out that he’s going to have to give it up for the World Cup.

The Mirror single out Ozil, Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller and Marco Reus among the names banned from using social media.

Additionally Joachim Low has also outlawed other unnecessary distractions, including a sex ban during the tournament.

That means Ozil may not get to see much of former Miss World Turkey, Amine Gulse, who happens to be his fiancee.

Germany are aiming to become the first team to retain the World Cup title since the Brazil side of 1958 and 1962.

The Germans will kick-start their friendlies against neighbors Austria on Saturday before facing Saudi Arabia next Friday.

Germany have been drawn in Group F with Mexico, South Korea and Sweden and will begin their defence of the World Cup against the Mexicans on June 17.
