Both Ilkay Gundogan and Mesut Ozil will be having the evening off tonight after the game between Manchester City and Arsenal was postponed.

The Premier League took the decision to call-off this evening’s encounter after Arsenal placed its players in self-isolation.

The decision was taken by the club late on Tuesday after several Arsenal players were in close proximity to the Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis following their Europa League clash.

Arsenal have confirmed that none of the players are showing any symptoms of covid-19 and that the decision to self-isolate is a “precautionary measure.”

Both Mesut Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan – who are of Turkish descent – were expected to start for their respective sides this evening.

No decision has been made on when the game will be rescheduled for.

The Premier League released a statement earlier today confirming their decision: “Following medical advice, Arsenal FC and Manchester City FC consider it is necessary to postpone their fixture due to be played this evening, Wednesday 11 March, to give time to fully assess the situation.

“The Premier League has therefore agreed that tonight’s match will be rearranged.

The Premier League went onto state that they have no plans to postpone any other games due to the coronavirus.
