Arsenal star Mesut Ozil missed the Premier League clash against Burnley on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium due to illness.
Ozil missed the opening game of the campaign against Newcastle United following security concerns.
Two men were arrested outside of Ozil’s home following an incident.
Just a fortnight before Ozil and teammate Sead Kolasinac were targeted by a knife-wielding moped gang in north London.
Gunners manager Unai Emery revealed that Ozil and Kolasinac could miss the Burnley game due to further security concerns earlier in the week.
“The club is managing that circumstance [the safety of Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac],” Emery told Arsenal’s official website.
“We want to be with them as soon as possible and with normality in training and normality to be ready to play. I don’t know now [if they will play next week].”
Ozil and Kolasinac have however, returned to the squad and resumed training.
Kolasinac was included in the matchday squad today against Burnley but Ozil missed the game.
The actual reason he was omitted from the squad was actually due to illness.
Arsenal revealed that Ozil was unfit due to being ill earlier in the week in a Twitter update.
