Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has returned to the Germany national team starting line-up against South Korea after being dropped against Sweden.

The playmaker of Turkish origin did not start for the first time in a major competition since making his debut for Germany.

Ozil has come under fire from sections of the media and fans for his display in the 1-0 defeat against Mexico.

Germany ended up beating Sweden thanks to a last-gasp goal from Marco Reus which kept his side in the tournament.

Fellow Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan made his World Cup debut against Sweden coming off the bench.

The Manchester City midfielder has been benched for the third successive game.

Germany must win and hope to beat Mexico and Sweden on goal difference to qualify.

Should the Germans draw and Sweden beat Mexico they will not make it to the next round.

Alternatively, if Germany draw and Sweden lose then the Germans will book a place in the Last 16.
