Arsenal star midfielder issues injury update ahead of Man City clash

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has issued an update on his knee injury ahead of this weekends clash with Manchester City.

The 29-year-old was sidelined for a fortnight earlier this month after suffering a knee injury in training.

Ozil has been in scintillating form of late and played a starring role during the Gunners wins over Everton and Swansea City.

The Germany international has revealed that he is now feeling fully fit after struggling with a knee injury at the start of the season.

“I feel 100 per cent fit now,” Ozil told Arsenal’s official website.

“I had knee problems [earlier this season] but in the game at Everton you saw that I’m fully fit and I was relieved to help the team.”

Ozil’s long-term future at the club is still cast in doubt. The former Real Madrid star is yet to commit to a new contract and could end up leaving the club for free next summer.

Arsenal take on Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday night. Manager Arsene Wenger is expected to rest his star players ahead of this weekends clash with Manchester City.

Man City are unbeaten in their last 13 games and have recorded eight Premier League victories in a row.
