The USA came from 1-0 down to beat world champions Germany by a 2-1 scoreline.
Mesut Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan started the friendly encounter which took place in the city of Cologne.
The Arsenal playmaker came close to putting his side ahead in the 6th minute of the game but was denied by Brad Guzan.
Germany took the lead then Mario Gotze slotted the ball past Brad Guzan into the back of the net. Mikkel Diskerud equalised for the USA when he controlled Michael Bradley’s fine pass and volleyed past Zieler.
