The Turkish international midfielder hit the ground running in his first season playing in the Süper Lig racking up 10 goals and making a name for himself as being a bit of a set piece expert. Ekici even got called a ‘free-kick-master by UEFA.
Ekici scored five direct-free kick goals this season, making him one of the most dangerous set-piece specialist in Europe – top five European leagues. The Turkish international has strong foundations having started his footballing career at Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old midfielder was statistically the highest rated player in the league according to Whoscored with a 7.71 rating.
