Arsenal star reached out to fans who have backed him in ‘good and in bad times’ in birthday message
Mesut Ozil has come under fire from sections of the Arsenal fanbase as well as the media during his time in the Premier League.
Ozil celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday.
As is so often the case with the playmaker of Turkish origin he expressed himself on social media.
Ozil sent out a tweet thanking the fans who have backed him in the ‘good and bad times’.
The message may have been a thinly veiled dig at his doubters while congratulating his loyal supporters.

Ozil received heavy criticism following the 2-1 defeat to Watford over the weekend despite not even starting the game.
The 2014 World Cup winner has not been in the best of form this campaign failing to score or provide an assist in all competitions.
Ozil faces an uncertain future at Arsenal as he has under 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to sign a new deal.
