Arsenal star reaches out to Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo following Euro 2016 win

Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to congratulate his former teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe following their Euro 2016 win.

Both Pepe and Ronaldo were part of the Portugal national team which were crowned Euro 2016 champions yesterday evening.

Fernando Santos’s side defied the odds to record a 1-0 win over the hosts with the winning goal coming from the former Swansea City striker Eder.

Ozil congratulate both Ronaldo and Pepe on his official Twitter page after the game.

Ozil was part of the Germany side which went out in the semi-finals. The 27-year-old ended the the tournament with one goal and one assist. Germany were eliminated by the hosts France by a 2-0 scoreline.

The former Real Madrid star is currently spending his summer break in Los Angeles and will join Arsenal’s pre-season training camp later this month.

Ozil finished last season as the leading assist provider in the Premier League (19) and was name Arsenal player of the season.
