It is no secret that Arsenal fans often win online polls open to the public. Well that was surprisingly not the case this week.

Manuel Fernandes ended up winning the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week award picking up an impressive 73 percent of the vote.

The former Besiktas man scored a hat-trick in Lokomotiv Moscow’s 3-2 away win over Ligue 1 outfit Nice.

Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi came second with 11 percent after his brace for Borrussia Dortmund in their 3-2 win over Atalanta.

Mesut Ozil meanwhile finished the poll in third place with just 10 percent of the share.

The playmaker of Turkish origin scored in his first Europa League game in 3101 days as Arsenal cruise to a 3-0 away victory over Ostersund.

The 29-year-old played his first Europa League game of the season as Arsene Wenger decided to field a strong side for the first time in the competition this term.

The Gunners are expected to treat the tournament seriously as lifting the trophy offers one of their best chances of securing a Champions League place next season.
