Arsenal star reveals why he has settled into North London so well

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil Arsenal transfer news

Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has revealed why he has settled at the north London based club so well.

The 27-year-old joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club record £42 million back in September 2013.

Ozil struggled in his opening season but was one of the starting players in the Premier League this term. The Germany international registered 19 assists and was unlucky not to break the record of 20 set by Thierry Henry.

“I’m the sort of person who can integrate quickly. I’m a normal person and people who know me know that I’m quiet and just like doing my thing,” he says,” Ozil told Arsenal’s official website.

“That was the case here, with the Germany national team and in my youth. I was and still am very open when I meet people.

“It was like that at Arsenal too. I lived in Spain and got to know the wonderful culture and people there. Now I’m in England, where I’m learning the language and the culture. I’m proud of that.”

Ozil is currently on international duty with the Germany national team at Euro 2016.

Joachim Low’s side currently sit at the top of Group C with four points following a win over Ukraine and a draw with Poland. Germany take on Northern Ireland in their final group game this week.

The Arsenal star has played the full 90 minutes in Germany’s opening two games and is expected to start against Northern Ireland.
