Arsenal table big-money offer for star playmaker who left club in 2012 – Arsene Wenger involved in contract negotiations

Arsenal have tabled a big-money offer for their former star midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup in a bid to lure him back to the Emirates.

The Turkey international has been closely linked with a move away from Besiktas after failing to put pen-to-paper on a new contract. The Istanbul giants could end up losing Ozyakup for free this summer.

According to a source close to the Istanbul giants, the Gunners have tabled a lucrative contract for Ozyakup.

However, Besiktas are still trying to extend the Turkey international’s contract so that they can make a profit upon selling him. Per the source, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also been in contact with Ozyakup regarding a return to the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Turkish outlet Aksam state that Arsenal had a bid for the midfield palymaker over the January transfer window.

Ozyakup left Arsenal back in for Besiktas back in 2012 for just £500,000. The 25-year-old has subsequently won two Turkish League titles and has played a starring role in the Eagles UEFA Champions League run this season.
