Arsenal Target Caglar Soyuncu Reportedly Verbally ‘Agrees’ To Emirates Move, Instructs Agent To Complete Deal

Arsenal have been closely linked with Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu.

Calcio Insider claims Soyuncu has verbally agreed to join the Gunners and instructed his agent he wants to move.

The stumbling block is still proving to be his price tag.

The Bundesliga outfit are asking for a fee which the North London outfit are currently unwilling to match.

The report is pretty much what Turkish-Football have been reporting, apart from the part that Soyuncu has ‘verbally agreed’.

A decision over Soyuncu’s future be made after the Eid holidays which last until 17 June in Turkey.

As things stand there is no deal in place and contrary to rumors the player has not had a medical.

Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has scouted Soyuncu since his time at Borussia Dortmund.

“Sven Mislintat has been keen on Caglar since he was at Borussia Dortmund,” Dogru was recently quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“He first scouted him back in Germany.”

It is worth underlining that Arsenal are not the only side in talks with Soyuncu.

Dogru made it clear when we last spoke that Mislintat has a long-term interest in his client but that four Premier League sides are in negotiations.

“There are four Premier League sides who’ve made a move for Soyuncu, that we are in talks with,” he added.

The agent did not reveal which other clubs are in talks over the 22-year-old defender but did confirm that they are sides that finished the season in the top half of the table.

Freiburg would have to pay 25 percent of the transfer fee for Soyuncu’s former club Altinordu so they are keen to hold out for the best possible deal.

Soyuncu wrapped up last season scoring one goal in 26 league appearances.
