Arsenal Team News: Unai Emery reveals Mesut Ozil update ahead of Europa League clash

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil could be included in Unai Emery’s starting eleven this evening.

The Gunners host Qarabag FK at the Emirates stadium in the Europa League tonight. Arsenal have already booked their spot in the next round and are so far unbeaten in the competition.

Emery is expected to field an experimental side including youngsters. Ozil who has been ruled out with a back injury in recent weeks could also feature.

The Spanish tactician has confirmed that Ozil has overcome his injury and that he is expected to feature tonight.

“After his injuries, he is OK,” Emery told SkySports.

“He is in the group for tomorrow – we need him to help us with his quality. Tomorrow [Today] is the first game after these injuries, when he can help us.”

Arsenal have remained unbeaten during Ozil’s spell on the sidelines due to injuries.

Ozil has registered one assist and scored four goals in 12 appearances for Arsenal this season.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks. Ozil put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal in January and is understood to be happy in north London.

Arsenal take on an out-of-form Southampton in the Premier League this weekend.
