Arsenal set to hold talks with Besiktas over €20m star midfielder Ozyakup in London, Turkish club want to re-negotiate agreement

Turkish Super League champions Besiktas are set to hold talks with Arsenal over a sell-on clause regarding their star midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

According to the Turkish outlet Fanatik, the Black Eagles want to re-negotiate the sell-on clause.

Per the source, when Besiktas signed Ozyakup from Arsenal for just €500,000 back in 2013, the Gunners inserted a 30% sell-on-clause within the deal.

Besiktas have offered Arsenal a €1 million up-front payment to waver the clause.

However, Fanatik state that Arsenal are yet to make a decision regarding the clause and have invited Besiktas directors to London for face-to-face talks.

Besiktas value their star midfielder at €20 million. If a club were to match the Black Eagles valuation, Arsenal would currently receive €6 million from the transfer.

Ozyakup has 12 months remaining on his contract and is yet to sign an extension. The Turkey international has been directly involved in 69 goals since joining Besiktas from Arsenal.

Arsenal take on Stoke City in the Premier League this weekend as they look to record back-to-back victories.
