Arsenal & Tottenham Target Has Received £18.66m Offer From Premier League Side, World Cup Finalist Expected To Leave Super Lig Giants This Summer

Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida has been persistently been linked with a move to the Premier League over the summer transfer window.

The Aksam newspaper reported that the Black Eagles have received a £18.66m [€21m] bid for the Croatia international from an unnamed Premier League side.

Per the source, a Besiktas board member made the following statement: “A Premier League side has made a verbal offer for £18.66m. It is not a formal offer and would be wrong of us to reveal the name of the club at this stage. Talks are ongoing. With bonuses we could be looking at €24m-€25m. We will sell for the right price, it would be a win-win situation for all involved. If he leaves we have replacements ready.

The report goes onto claim that Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool have all made offers for Vida.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has however, made it clear that they are not in the market for a defender.

When asked if he wants a new option at the back, Klopp replied: ”This summer, no. I don’t see the need.

“Joe Gomez, playing in that role as a central defender, he combines a lot of things you don’t find on the transfer market so I don’t see the need at the moment.”

Everton interest is nothing new but this is the first time we have seen Arsenal and Tottenham being linked.

The 29-year-old played an important role in Croatia reaching the final and was named in The Guardian Team of the Tournament.

Vida scored in the quarter-final against Russia and provided an assist in the final against France.

The World Cup finalist joined Besiktas on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev in January and still has another four-years remaining on his contract.
