Arsenal Transfer News: £350k-per-week star to stay put after Turkish Giants rule themselves out of bid

Mesut Ozil

Fenerbahce have ruled out a move for Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil.

We recently reported that Ladbrooks made the Turkish giants favourites along with Manchester United to sign Ozil.

However, a source close to Fenerbahce has revealed to Turkish-Football that talk of Ozil joining the Istanbul giants in January is out of the question.

Per the source, Fenerbahce are unable to match the wages he earns at Arsenal due to Financial Fair Play rules.

Ozil recently penned a £350,000 per week deal with the north London based club. The 29-year-old has another two and a half years remaining on his contract.

Arsenal are back in action this weekend when they take on Newcastle United in the Premier League. Ozil will be hoping to register his first goal or assist of the season against the Magpies.

Newcastle United meanwhile are still looking for their first win of the season.
