Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger unlikely to spend during January

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unlikely to spend big over the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

Per-the-source, Wenger will not make any major transfer as he is focused needs on resolving the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

The report goes onto state that the French tactician wants to sign a total of five players to new contracts.

Wenger is keen for Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla to commit their futures to the Gunners.

Wenger has stated that he has a verbal agreement with both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez over new contracts, according to the Metro.

The French tacticain has stated that the duo have told him that they want to remain at the Emirates.

Both Mesut Ozil and Sanchez – who both has 18 months remaining on their current contracts – are yet to put pen to paper over new deals.

Arsenal take on Swansea City in the Premier League next weekend.
