Arsenal have been closely linked with a move for Roma starlet Cengiz Under over recent weeks.
Turkish-Football have reported the Gunners keeping close tabs on the winger throughout the season.
Under has also been linked with the liked of Manchester City, Tottenham and Bayern Munich but according to Calciomercato Arsenal ‘especially’ are interested.
The Gunnners are interested in an end of season move and would not be looking to push for a January transfer.
The report highlights quotes made by Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi.
“I don’t believe much in the winter window,” he told the Mail. “There are exceptions but if you have the right planification in the summer and the team are performing at the level you expect, you should not go to that window or try to avoid it.
“It’s there for emergencies, a big injury or if something is really not working and you need to recover there. I give much more importance to the summer windows.”
Sources close to the player have made it clear to Turkish-Football that Under will not be leaving in January.
Roma are currently in talks with Under’s representatives over a new contract deal which would see him receive a pay increase on his €1m per-season salary.
The Giallorossi want to include a €50m [£44m] release clause option which reflects their valuation.
Under has been in impressive form this season providing five assists and scoring three goals in all competitions.
