Arsenal transfer news: La Liga side win race to sign Gunners star striker, Fenerbahce miss out

Spanish striker Lucas Perez has returned to the La Liga following a 12-month spell at Arsenal.

Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce were closely linked with a move for the 28-year-old. However, the Yellow Canaries were unable to strike a deal with the Gunners.

According to SkySports, Perez has rejoined Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan deal.

The Spanish striker has retuned to his hometown club, just 12 months after joining the Gunners in a £17m deal from Deportivo.

Despite scoring goals in every competition for Arsenal last season, Perez was unable to secure a regular starting place in the squad.

Perez has fallen further down the pecking order at the north London-based club following the arrivals of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.

The Spanish striker made just 11 Premier League appearances for the Gunners last season and only scored one Premier League goal.
