Arsenal Transfer Could Result In Turkish Giants Move For Newcastle Midfielder

Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup faces an uncertain future as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Several clubs have been linked with the Turkey international including his former club Arsenal.

The Gunners are planning to sign Ozyakup as a cut-place replacement for Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere is also approaching the end of his contract as well but has yet to sign an extension. Like Ozyakup he will become a free agent unless an extension deal is signed.

Everton and Newcastle United are also monitoring Ozyakup.

Besiktas meanwhile have their eye on Newcastle United midfielder Dan Barlaser as a potential replacement for Ozyakup should he leave according to the Aksam newspaper.

Per the source, the Istanbul giants are set to hold talks with the Magpies over a summer move.

Barlaser is on loan at League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra but has been given just 58 minutes of playing time

Besiktas would be able to offer the prospect of European competition football as well as a potential title challenge.

Despite being born in Gateshead, Newcastle Barlaser is also of Turkish descent and can play in the Super Lig under domestic status.

The 20-year-old midfielder can represent Turkey and England at international level.
