Mesut Ozil

Arsenal kick-off their 2018/19 Premier League season against the reigning champions Manchester City.

The Gunners host Pep Guardiola’s side at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday while kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 (GMT).

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is available for selection this weekend and will be eager to put a controversial summer behind him.

The 29-year-old retired from the Germany national side citing discrimination and racism.

Ozil has been handed the no.10 jersey following Jack Wilshere’s departure.

Leno, Sokratis and Torreria could all make their debuts for Arsenal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Man City star midfielder Ilkay Gundogan underwent surgery on his nose to fix a deviated septum.

The Germany international is available for selection despite having to wear a protective mask. Gundogan did feature against Chelsea during City’s 2-0 win in the Community Shield Final.
