Arsenal vs AC Milan – Confirmed Lineups: Wenger Receives Major Injury Boost, Star Playmaker Starts

Arsenal Team News

Arsenal will be hoping to extend their winning run to three games against AC Milan in the Europa League Last 16 second-leg tie at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

The Gunners won the first-leg 2-0 at the San Siro and just need to hang onto their aggregate lead to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Mesut Ozil was the star of the show providing assists for Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s opener and Aaron Ramsey’s second goal.

The playmaker of Turkish origin also setup the opening goal in the 3-0 win over Watford over the weekend but there were fears he could miss the European tie after picking up a knock.

Ozil did however, return to training on Wednesday and has been passed as match fit, as have Mkhitaryan and Ramsey.

Wenger faces two major injury boosts as Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal have recovered.

Bellerin replaces Calum Chambers at right-back after returning from a knee injury.

Monreal meanwhile also returns as does Shkodran Mustafi who were both doubts heading into the game.

Mustafi starts alongside Kolasinac as the Gunners centre-back pairing.

Granit Xhaka starts behind Ramsey and Jack Wilshere in a three-man midfield.

Ozil and Mkhitaryan start out wide while Danny Welbeck could get the nod up front in the absence of the injured Alexandre Lacazette and cup-tied Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

AC Milan are largely unchanged from the side that started against the Gunners last week.

Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu has kept his place in the starting lineup.
