Arsenal youngster Savvas Mourgos has revealed that he is looking to learn the most from Mesut Ozil and that he is looking forward to training alongside the World Cup winner.
Mourgos signed his first professional contract with the Gunners last month. The Greek playmaker feels Ozil is an ideal role model for him due to them both being left-footed.
“I am looking to add more goals and assists to my game,” Mourgos told Arsenal’s official website.
“I am naturally left-footed and I suppose as a consequence I look to learn most from Mesut Ozil.
“I watch him closely during games to study his movement, timing of runs, decision making.
“I have trained with the first team on a few occasions but not at times when Mesut was there but I hope that will come one day soon.”
Ozil has enjoyed an impressive season for the Gunners this season so far.
The 27-year-old has recorded 18 assists and with two games to go still has a chance of equalling the Premier League record of 20 set by Thierry Henry.
Ozil would have had more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates. The Germany international has created the most chances in the league (137) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.
The Gunners take on Manchester City this weekend in the Premier League as they look to secure a third place finish.
