Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil shares message following Thailand cave rescue

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has celebrated the cave rescue of 12 boys and their coach.

The Moo Pa academy team, whose ages range from 11 to 16, became trapped with their coach inside the six-mile Tham Luang cave on 23 June.

The rescue operation concluded earlier this week with all the trapped individuals being rescued from the cave.

Ozil took to Twitter to express his delight at the good news and included the hashtag, “Never Give Up.”

Ozil is currently on holiday following a difficult 2018 World Cup with Germany. The reigning champions crashed out in the group stages following defeats to Mexico and South Korea.

The 29-year-old was heavily criticised by the German media following the World Cup disappointment.

Ozil is expected to return to Arsenal to begin pre-season training ahead of the 2-18/19 season.

The former Real Madrid star recently penned a new deal with the Gunners making him one of the north London based club’s highest paid players.
