Fenerbahce have been closely linked with Arsene Wenger in the Turkish press after a dreadful start to the Super Lig season.

Wenger has yet to take on a new role since leaving Arsenal over the summer but he has received several ‘prestigious’ offers according to Fenerbahce club president Ali Koc.

Koc responded to rumors claiming the Yellow Canaries have made an offer for the French manager.

The recently appointed president ruled out getting rid of Phillip Cocu until at least the winter break and denied making an offer for Wenger.

Koc also made it clear that while he admires Wenger he does not think he would be a good fit at the club.

“Cocu needs time, we will not be getting rid of our manager for now, we will talk over the winter break,” he said.

“Who doesn’t want Arsène? But we aren’t in a position to meet the prestigious offers that he already turned down from elsewhere.

“But I don’t think Wenger would be right for us or that we would be right to him.”

Fenerbahce are currently 14th in the Super Lig just one spot above the relegation zone.

Cocu is under pressure to get the Yellow Canaries season back on track and there have been several reports that his job is under threat.

Wenger meanwhile has taken a break from management after a 17-year stint in charge of Arsenal and has yet to take charge of a new club.
