Arsene Wenger reveals Mesut Ozil and new arrival from Man United can play together

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is not worried about fitting both Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the same starting eleven

The Gunners signed the Armenian international from Manchester United as part of a transfer which saw Alexis Sanchez go in the opposite direction.

Arsenal manager Wenger believes the duo will be able to play alongside each other with the rest of the Gunner’s creative midfielders and attackers.

“Just play the good players! They can always play together,” Ozil stated when asked how he could fit Mkhitaryan and Ozil into the same team

“[Against Crystal Palace] what have you on the pitch? They’re all attacking players. [Alex] Iwobi, Ozil, [Jack] Wilshere, [Alexandre] Lacazette, [Granit] Xhaka. They’re all offensive players, basically.”

The pair could play their first team together when Arsenal host their London rivals Chelsea in the League Cup final on Wednesday evening.

Ozil’s long-term future at Arsenal is currently cast in doubt. The 29-year-old has under five months left on his contract with the north London based club and could end up leaving the club for free in July.

The Germany international played a starring role during Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.
