Championship side Birmingham have joined Galatasaray in the race to sign Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Villa are trying to bring the experienced defender back to the club where he kicked-off his career.
Cahill was part of Villa’s youth side since 2000 and made his senior debut in 2004.
Per the source, Aston Villa officials are in contact with Chelsea as they look to sign the experienced defender on loan.
Despite the transfer window closing in England, Championship sides can sign players on loan until the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray have also been closely linked with a move for the Chelsea ace this week.

According to the Turkish outlet Fanatik, the Lions have already struck a deal with Cahill and are negotiating a fee with Chelsea.
Cahill has under 12-months remaining on his contract with the Blues and is yet to feature for the Lonon based club this season.
