Aston Villa have joined Cardiff City in the race for Besiktas striker Alvaro Negredo according to the Takvim newspaper.
Per the source, the Black Eagles have given Negredo the green light to leave this summer but his wages could prove a problem.
The Spanish striker earns £3.75m [€4.2m] per-season and has another 12 months remaining on his contract.
The report claims that both sides would only be prepared to offer £2.7m [€3m] per-season for the experienced forward.
Negrego is no stranger to English football having previously played for Middlesbrough and Manchester City.
The experienced forward scored 18 goals in 68 Premier League appearances.

Negredo was promoted to first-choice forward at Besiktas after Cenk Tosun joined Everton last season.
The Black Eagles are however, keen to part ways with the striker due to his high wages.
The Istanbul giants want to slash their wage bill over the summer.
Negredo provided six assists and scored seven goals in 31 appearances for Besiktas last term.
Cardiff take on Bournemouth this weekend in their first Premier League game of the 2018/19 season.
Villa meanwhile have already kicked off their Championship campaign with a 3-1 away win over Hull City.
