Atletico Madrid have added Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu to their shortlist according to AS.
Per the source, Atleti do have four top-level players in the central defence position but could sign cover should one of José María Giménez, Diego Godín, Stefan Savic or Lucas Hernandez leave.
Atleti Sporting Director Andrea Berta is in contract with the player’s agent, Mustafa Dogru.
The report claims that the La Liga giants are Soyuncu’s preferred destination this summer.
The player feels Diego Simeone would help him develop as a defender.
Freiburg want around €25 to €30 million for the 22-year-old.
The problem is Jiménez and Lucas have just signed new contract deals.
Savic is also under contract but does have offers from England and Italy.
Godín meanwhile has one year left on his contract with a release clause of 20 million euros.
Turkish-Football have reported Arsenal interest in Soyuncu and Dogru did recently inform us that four Premier League sides are interested in signing the rising star.

The Manchester Evening News report that Soyuncu is among one of eight players being targeted by Manchester United.
Per the source, signing a centre-back is the Red Devils priority this summer.
