Atletico Madrid have become the latest side to express an interest in Basaksehir rising star Cengiz Under.

A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that the La Liga outfit have sent over scouts ahead of the Basaksehir clash against Genclerbirligi.

The Istanbul minnows are currently second in the Turkish league just two points behind leaders Besiktas.

Under has played an integral role in Basaksehir’s success this season scoring nine times and providing seven assists in his debut season.

The Turkish international forward has been nicknamed the ‘Turkish Dybala’ due to his playing style and resemblance to the Juventus star.

The 19-year-old’s red hot form has attracted widespread interest from across Europe including Premier League giants Manchester United.

Turkish daily Hurriyet recently reported that United are plotting a £6 million move for the youngster.

Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag revealed that Premier League and La Liga scouts kept tabs on Under during the 3-1 victory over reigning champions Besiktas.

The La Liga scouts were from Atletico Madrid – although Gumusdag refused to disclose which clubs attended at the time.

“There were scouts from Premier League scouts and La Liga teams at the Besiktas derby,” Gumusdag was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“I will reveal the details at the end of the season as I do not want to distract the team.

“We do not want to sell Under but will discuss this once the season is over.”

Under has started to become a regular call up to the Turkish national team and will have to keep featuring in the squad in over 60 percent of games over the next two-seasons to be guaranteed a work permit from the UK Home Office under the current ruling on non-EU players.

The rising star would face no such trouble playing for a La Liga side or in most other major European leagues.
