Barcelona star Arda Turan will miss the derby against Espanyol derby on 2 January despite being available for registration as nobody will be available to process his paperwork on New Years day.
The first day of the year is a national holiday in Spain which means nobody will be working. Turan is available for registration in January but will have to wait for the La Liga champions following game to make his debut.
Turan has had a long wait on the sidelines since joining Barcelona on a five-year deal from Atletico Madrid over the summer transfer window due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club.
The 28-year-old is yet to make a single appearance for the La Liga giants this season but has been able to represent the Turkish national team and helped them book a place in the European Championships which will be played in France this summer.
The La Liga authorities (LFP) are expected to register the Turkish international on 4 January 2016 meaning Turan’s debut could come at the Camp Nou against Granada.
