Barcelona to fund £34m Bellerin transfer by selling star man to Arsenal for £21m

Barcelona are considering funding their move for Arsenal star Hector Bellerin by allowing Arda Turan to leave according to Mundo Deportivo.

Per the source, the Gunners want £34.2 million [€40 million] for Bellerin, a fee Barcelona would currently not be able to match.

The reigning La Liga champions would only be able to pay a £21.4 million transfer fee [€25 million].

Barca would however, be able to fund the transfer if they allow Turan to be sold to Arsenal for £25 million.

According to The Times, Arsenal have been preparing a £25 million offer for the Turkey international.

The report claims that the Gunners are lining up the 30-year-old as a replacement for Mesut Ozil.

Ozil’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of next season and he has yet to make a decision regarding his future.

The Turkish international does have another three-years remaining on his contract and has underlined that he is happy at Barcelona.

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut has stated that there has been no talks between himself and Arsenal.

“There is currently no offer, there is nothing to speak of right now,” Bulut was quoted as saying Eren Sarigul of Turkish-Football & ESPN FC.

“I have not been contacted by Arsenal. As I said before, he is happy at Barcelona and has three years left on his contract.”

Turan did spark speculation that he could be on his way to the Premier League after Turkish-Football revealed he brought property in London.

The attacking midfielder did reveal that he has property in London for investment purposes only.
