The bookmakers have United as favourites with odds ranging from 2.5 to 2.88 online.
Turan has instead tipped Turkish giants Besiktas to win the tournament.
“Besiktas have a quality side, there is still a long way to go and I would not write off Olympiakos just yet but if they are patient and keep on their current track there is no team they cannot beat, they could win it, I fancy them.” Turan was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
Besiktas were held to a 1-1 draw in their first-leg Last 16 clash with Olympiakos in Greece which sets them up with an away goal advantage going into the return clash in Istanbul.
The reigning Turkish league champions are currently first in their domestic league, four points clear of nearest rivals Basaksehir who are second.
United may be favourites but Besiktas just might fancy their chances against the Premier League giants.
The Red Devils have already faced Turkish opposition in the Europa League this season. Fenerbahce topped Group A ahead of United beating them in Istanbul while losing at Old Trafford.
United drew their first-leg clash with Rostov 1-1 in Russia and also return to Old Trafford with what could prove to be a crucial away goal.
Turan meanwhile starred in the historic comeback against PSG which saw Barcelona become the first side in the Champions League to overcome a 4-0 first leg defeat to go through to the quarter-finals 6-5 on aggregate.
